Why Should I Join a Community Group

God created us to depend on each other.Joining a community group is the first step to growing relationally. Community groups provide support, friendship, accountability, relationship and fun. Just attending a community group helps defeat isolation often experienced by people in our culture. Community is just as essential to our lives as oxygen, water, and food. Worldwide, people are being empowered by the ancient practice of community.
Community Groups are intentional relationships in a small group setting. It is essential to our spiritual growth as believers to connect to other believers. The best way to get connected is through a small group in our Community Groups.
Our Groups are as varied as we are; group leaders use their gifts and passions to create a group that allows others to join with them in discovering and serving God. Whatever your age or interest there is a group for you!
We have three types of Community Groups:
1. Life Groups – Life Groups are all about growing spiritually together in a shared-life experience. The majority of our Life Groups meet in homes around the community. Life Groups are about Spiritual Growth, Belonging and Care. Life Groups are ongoing throughout the year. Life Groups are launched four times a year at our Group Link event.
2. Classes – The main purpose of our classes are to train and equip believers to deepen their relationship with God and begin the work of ministry in their workplaces, homes and The Rock. Classes follow a 3-semester calendar: spring, summer, and fall. Each semester is kicked off with an online registration and new group guide.
3. Interest Based Groups – Interest Based Groups are groups that come together to share a common interest. Whether it be sports, exercise, scrap booking, martial arts, skiing, gardening etc… Interest based groups also follow a 3-semester calendar: spring, summer, and fall. Each semester is kicked off with an online registration and new group guide.
Becoming a Leader
We believe that everyone has areas of strength and gifting that can benefit others. The first step in becoming a community group leader is to contact one of the several ministry leaders depending on your interest.
